Three generations. One standard.
Westech Environmental LLC is a family firm built on a standard that hasn't changed in over two decades. Founded in 2001 by Anthony D. Belcher — a California Certified Asbestos Consultant with more than 35 years in environmental hygiene — Westech earned its reputation on legally defensible work that property managers, contractors, and institutions could rely on. That standard passed through Anthony's daughter, Keadraian Belcher, who served as the company's Office Manager before stepping down to lead C.L.A.S.S.Y., a nonprofit serving at-risk children.
Today, Westech is led by its third generation: Janaya Belcher, Chief Operating Officer and Anthony's granddaughter. Janaya didn't inherit the firm — she grew up in it. Starting part-time in high school, she did every job there was: running errands, cleaning the office, researching regulations, and calculating air changes per hour for required CFM. After earning her place in the field, she was hired by the UC Davis Medical Center's environmental department — then left an established institution to take the reins of her grandfather's firm as he began his transition out after a distinguished career.
A Certified Asbestos Contractor/Supervisor and Certified Asbestos Building Inspector, Janaya leads Westech with a single mission: to protect and carry forward the reputation three generations of her family have built — delivering the same defensible, dependable work that has defined Westech from the start.
California Standard Safety
We uphold the highest standards of environmental integrity through rigorous testing and defensible compliance. Our approach ensures that every asbestos consultation and mold remediation project in California meets or exceeds regulatory requirements with absolute safety and technical precision.
Under federal law, any material containing more than 1% asbestos is regulated as asbestos-containing — and a thorough inspection is required before renovation or of virtually any commercial, institutional, or industrial building.
Here's what surprises many owners: asbestos has never been fully banned in the United States, and building materials are sourced globally from countries with very different standards. That means you cannot assume a material is asbestos-free based on a building's age or where the materials came from. The only way to know is a certified survey — which is exactly what we provide, and what keeps your project compliant and your liability covered.
